Johnstone and Reimer Lawyers are a rapidly growing general practice firm with offices in Lilydale, Berwick, Reservoir, and Melbourne’s CBD. Our firm’s mission is to solve client’s legal problems as expeditiously as possible.

We are looking for a junior legal assistant who can provide assistance as needed to our busy personal injuries team, based in our Lilydale office.

As a full time junior legal assistant at Johnstone and Reimer Lawyers, your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Carry out a variety of administrative tasks assigned by the instructing solicitors and/or their assistant;
  • Obtain client’s medical records from treating practitioners;
  • Collate and prepare briefs, court documents, letters, etc;
  • Prepare basic correspondence;
  • Filing and other administrative support

The successful applicant will not necessarily have law office experience however general office experience would be a plus.

Key attributes required are high attention to detail, a good phone manner, and excellent interpersonal skills. Above all we are looking for someone with a “can do” attitude who is willing to learn and roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

We have a need for a Lilydale based Estate Litigation Lawyer with at least two years post-admission experience who is looking for a varied and fulfilling role in a supportive, positive workplace.

The successful applicant would join our busy Wills and Estates practice group, which includes a senior estate litigation lawyer, two estate planning lawyers, and a probate clerk.

You would have the opportunity to work alongside of, and be mentored by, a Law Institute of Victoria accredited Wills and Estates specialist who primarily practices in estate litigation.

You would be responsible for running a range of interesting estate litigation matters from start to finish, including but not limited to:

  • Part IV Claims (applicant and defendant)
  • Guardianship Applications and Disputes
  • Executor Disputes
  • Will Caveat / Probate Disputes

On par with top level technical skills, the characteristics we most value in an applicant are a proven strong work ethic and “can do” attitude.

This role will be based at our Lilydale office a minimum of three days a week, with potential flexibility the other two days to work from home or either of our Berwick or Reservoir offices.
