Legal Secretary Wills and Estates – Lilydale Office

As a┬árapidly growing general practice our firm’s mission is to solve client’s legal problems as expeditiously as possible for our clients.

This role will include broad legal secretarial support to our Wills and Estates team, supporting both an accredited Wills and Estates specialist and a junior lawyer. Tasks will including but are not limited to:

  • Handling telephone enquiries from new and existing clients;
  • Drafting routine correspondence;
  • Preparing drafts of wills and power of attorney documents;
  • Preparing drafts of applications for grants of probate and administration;
  • Sending and receiving correspondence on behalf of lawyers;
  • Brief preparation and assembly;
  • Discovery review and collation;
  • Deed packet management, filing, and other necessary administrative support.

The successful applicant must be adept at working in a fast paced environment and able to multi-task across numerous files. A strong work ethic and a high level of attention to detail are both extremely important, as are excellent customer service skills, as you will be dealing with clients who have often been through a recent bereavement or other traumatic family situation.

The ideal applicant will be seeking full time hours and have had experience in a law office environment, preferably within Wills and Estates or possibly another practice area with transferable skills.

Junior Family Lawyer – Eastern Suburbs – Lilydale office based

Our Lilydale based firm has a need for a junior family lawyer who is looking for a varied and fulfilling role in a supportive, positive workplace.

The successful applicant would join our busy family law team working under a senior lawyer handling family law files.

The successful applicant will have an outgoing, caring, and compassionate personality and a genuine interest in family law.

Further, excellent written skills are required with a strong attention detail, along with an ability to work efficiently. Excellent time management skills are a must.

The characteristics we most value in an applicant are a proven strong work ethic and “can do” attitude.

While this role is suitable for a recently admitted lawyer, a graduate pre-admission may be considered if they have strong relevant experience in family law.

This role will be based at our Lilydale office, however there will be an expectation that the successful applicant be willing to work at least one day a week from our Berwick office in Melbourne’s South Eastern suburbs.
