Legal Secretary Family Law – Lilydale Office

As a small but rapidly growing general practice firm our firm’s mission is to solve client’s legal problems as expeditiously as possible for our clients.

Role will include broad legal secretarial support to our family law team, including but not limited to:

  • Handling telephone enquiries from new and existing clients;
  • Drafting routine correspondence;
  • Sending and receiving correspondence on behalf of lawyers;
  • Brief preparation and assembly;
  • Discovery review and collation;
  • Filing and other necessary administrative support.

The successful applicant must be adept at working in a fast paced environment and able to multi-task across numerous files.

The ideal applicant will have at least 2-3 years working as a family law legal assistant, however other applicants with general law office experience are welcome to apply.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Wills & Estate Lawyer with at least three years’ experience in Estate Litigation and Estate Planning / Administration.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage a busy file load and achieve practical and pragmatic outcomes for clients in the outer suburbs.

Requirements

We are looking for a lawyer with the following skills and abilities:

  • Minimum of 3 years post admission experience, preferably 5 years plus (salary commensurate based on experience);
  • Demonstrated ability to administer multiple complex matters concurrently with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency;
  • Ability to focus on and deliver outcomes;
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines;
  • High level of communication and time management skills;
  • Capacity to be self managed and self motivated;
  • A desire to work as part of a close-knit team in a collaborative and sociable working environment.

This position is for someone who is looking for a stimulating and challenging role where you can utilise your skills and experiences with private clients in conjunction with your interest in, and exposure to, succession law.

This role will be based at our Lilydale office, however there will be an expectation that the successful applicant be willing to work as required from our Berwick office in Melbourne’s South Eastern suburbs and our new Melbourne CBD office.

Law Clerk – Personal Injury – Lilydale Office

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our Lilydale team as a Paralegal on a fulltime basis.

This is a busy and vital role where you will work closely with a Senior Lawyer who works across a number of personal injury practice areas including TAC, Workers Compensation, Medical Negligence, Superannuation and Victims of Crime.

Your day to day tasks will include:

  • Managing client intake, file management and client support
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
  • Drafting and generating correspondence and court documents
  • Providing litigation support
  • Developing and managing workflow systems and precedents
  • Billing and invoicing
  • Arranging appointments and diary management
  • Various administration tasks including filing, brief preparation and scanning of documents
  • Dictation

Key Selection Criteria

  • Sound knowledge of Victorian Workcover and/or TAC claims (at least 5 years’ experience)
  • Demonstrate commitment to engaging sensitively with clients
  • A strong understanding of court processes and litigation experience within the personal injuries context
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills and leadership capability
  • Ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
  • Typing speed of at least 60 wpm
