Elly studied a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Criminology at Deakin University. Having completed her studies in February 2018, Elly moved to the United Kingdom where she worked at the Medical Practitioners’ Tribunal Service, obtaining exposure to cases of medical negligence and professional misconduct.
During her studies Elly worked in private practice for three years as a paralegal across various areas, including Wills & Probates, Family Law, Criminal Law, Conveyancing and Contracts. Elly also completed an internship with a criminal firm at which she had great exposure to legal aid clientele in late 2017 and early 2018. Elly has also volunteered at the Melbourne Assessment Prison throughout her studies, having provided free legal information to incarcerated persons.
Upon return to Australia in late January 2019, Elly briefly worked as a Judge’s Associate in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia before joining the team at Johnstone and Reimer in April 2019! Elly works in our family law team and thoroughly enjoys helping our clients achieve results which can assist them in getting through difficult events in their lives. Elly is highly passionate about helping people and balancing justice with compassion.
Outside of work, Elly enjoys spending time with her family and dog, as well as playing sport (netball). Elly loves animals and also engages in fundraisers for Breast Cancer at her local cricket club.
