Andrea completed an Advanced Diploma of Criminal Justice prior to going on to Deakin University to complete a Bachelor of Criminology and a Bachelor of Laws. During her studies Andrea completed student internships at the Deakin Criminal Law Clinic as well as at a Community Service Legal Centre. She completed her Practical Legal Training at Leo Cussen.
Andrea commenced working in the legal industry in 2014 as a legal secretary at a criminal law firm. This is where she was first exposed to criminal procedure and developed a desire to help victims going through the system in various capacities. During her law studies she worked at the Office of Public Prosecutions as a Briefings and Depositions Officer.
Throughout her studies Andrea has developed a strong interest in criminal law and human rights law. She volunteers as an intern with a Human Rights Advocate and with a QC drafting letters of advice to individuals with human right matters. She is an active member of Amnesty International.
Andrea joined Johnstone and Reimer in July 2020 and works within the Victims of Crime team.
Outside of work Andrea enjoys spending time with her family, dog and friends. She is a music enthusiast and loves to go to live gigs regularly! Andrea writes gig reviews and interviews artists for a media organisation. She is an avid Essendon Football Club fan and lives ever in hope they will win another premiership one day!
